PAN card (NSDL Protean and UTIITSL) photo and signature size
The two PAN portals want different things. Protean (NSDL) asks for a 3.5 × 2.5 cm photograph at 200 DPI, JPEG, 20–50 KB, and a 4.5 × 2 cm signature at 200 DPI, 10–50 KB; it reads the DPI from the file itself. UTIITSL asks for a square 213 × 213 px photo at 300 DPI under 30 KB.

Common questions
Why does Protean reject a photo that looks fine?
Most often the DPI stored inside the JPEG is not 200. FormReady writes the DPI you set into the file, so choose 200 for Protean and 300 for UTIITSL.
Will the PAN portal definitely accept the file?
