Phone photos quietly carry GPS coordinates, device details and timestamps. This tool re-encodes the picture without that metadata, after applying the correct orientation.
The photo is re-encoded without EXIF data, so GPS location, camera model and capture details do not travel with the file. Sideways phone photos are rotated upright first, so portals that ignore orientation metadata display them correctly.
JPG, PNG or WebP up to 20 MB. The image content itself is not altered.
EXIF, GPS and camera fields are dropped during re-encoding; the orientation flag is applied to the pixels first so the photo still displays upright.
The original file on your device is untouched. Only the download is metadata-free.
Typical fields include GPS latitude/longitude, camera make and model, capture date and time, software versions and a small preview thumbnail.
The image is re-encoded once at a high quality setting, which is visually indistinguishable for form and sharing purposes.
The EXIF orientation flag is applied to the actual pixels before the flag is removed, so every viewer shows the same upright image.
