Common questions
Is this the official masked Aadhaar?
No. UIDAI offers an official masked e-Aadhaar download on its own portal. This tool is an independent utility that simply hides areas you select on any document copy.
Does the tool read or change my ID number?
No. It never reads, interprets or rewrites identity data. It only paints opaque boxes exactly where you draw them.
Which parts should I mask?
Follow the instructions of whoever is asking for the document. When in doubt, share the minimum: mask everything the receiver does not explicitly need.
