DPI and print size

Change image DPI

Choose metadata-only mode to keep every pixel, or physical-size mode to create the pixel dimensions required at the selected DPI.

Metadata only

Pixel dimensions stay unchanged. Only the print-density information is rewritten.

EXIF data is not copied

How it works

01

Choose the correct mode

Metadata only preserves pixels. Physical-size mode recalculates pixels for the requested print dimensions.

02

Enter DPI

Select a common value or use the exact density stated by the destination portal.

03

Check pixel output

Confirm the resulting pixel dimensions before submitting or printing.

Common questions

Does changing DPI always improve quality?

No. Metadata alone adds no detail. Physical-size mode may resample pixels, but it cannot create genuine missing detail.

What is 3.5 × 4.5 cm at 300 DPI?

It converts to approximately 413 × 531 pixels.

Does FormReady keep EXIF data?

The exported file is newly encoded and original camera metadata is not copied.
