SSC CGL photo and signature size
The Combined Graduate Level form asks for a passport-style photograph between 20 and 50 KB and a signature between 10 and 20 KB, both JPEG. Newer SSC forms capture the photo live in the browser, but the size limits are the same.

Getting it right first time
- Photo taken within the last three months, plain light background, no cap, no glasses.
- Sign on white paper with a black pen; the portal rejects signatures written in capital letters.
- Save the signature crop tightly around the ink so the 10–20 KB range is easy to reach.

Common questions
Does the SSC live photo replace uploading?
In the One Time Registration flow, yes: you capture the photo with your camera. If you are uploading instead, keep it within 20–50 KB JPEG at 3.5 × 4.5 cm.
Will the SSC CGL portal definitely accept the file?
